De ce această variantă
Alege-o dacă
Balances your priorities with a 2051€ price tag and a 34W idle draw.
Ce sacrifică
- Not specialized: it does not push any single dimension (value, silence, expansion) to the extreme.
Cum au fost alese piesele
- Intel Core i5 14400F: 10 cores / 16 threads covers the 9 cores needed with headroom.
- Motherboard Intel B760 (LGA 1700): matches the CPU socket and case size.
- RAM: 32GB DDR5,DDR4 — meets the 32GB the workload requires.
De ce nu celelalte
- Smart build — best all-round beats "Value build — most for your money" on efficiency +9, expandability +15, silence +23 — that is why it is recommended for your priorities.

Scor viitor-proof
Viitor-proof puternic75/100
Strong future-proofing (75/100) — this build should stay relevant for years without major surgery.
Upgrade path75
DIY build — the CPU, motherboard and PSU can each be upgraded independently without replacing the whole system.
Expansion100
Expansion headroom: 2 PCIe slot(s), 6 M.2, 0 SATA, 0 drive bay(s), 2 RAM slot(s) free.
Storage growth20
Storage is 77% utilized with 0 free drive bay(s) and 0 free SATA port(s).
Memory growth75
2 RAM slot(s) free; memory is 100% utilized.
Networking95
Networking is 10000 Mbps, and a free PCIe slot can add a faster NIC later.
Replacement ease90
ATX form factor with standard, socketed components — most parts are easy to replace.
Workload change70
No GPU, but there is room (2 PCIe slot(s), PSU headroom 3.5x) to add one for AI/transcoding.
Homelab Risk Score
Risc scăzut10/100
Low risk (10/100) — sensible redundancy and headroom; no single point of failure is exposed.
low
Single point of failure
Storage has redundancy (parity1) — a single drive failure does not take the array down.Soluție: Continue a 3-2-1 backup strategy; redundancy is not a backup.
low
Storage risk
4 NAS-rated hard drive(s) — rated for 24/7 operation.Soluție: Keep drives cool and monitor SMART health.
low
Data loss risk
Redundancy protects against drive failure, though it is not a substitute for backups.Soluție: Follow a 3-2-1 backup rule: at least one copy off the box.
low
Power risk
PSU is 400W, peak load 115W (29%).Soluție: PSU sizing leaves healthy headroom for spikes and future parts.
low
Network risk
Single 10000 Mbps NIC — a switch/port failure takes the box fully offline, and multi-user media can saturate 10000 Mbps.Soluție: Consider a second NIC or a managed switch; for heavy media, plan for 2.5/10G before the build.
low
Expansion risk
2 PCIe, 6 M.2, 0 SATA, 0 bays free.Soluție: Healthy room for future drives, NICs and accelerators.
low
Upgrade risk
2024 platform — current generation with a forward-looking socket/feature set.Soluție: Buy for the workload, not the socket — upgrade paths are a bonus, not a guarantee.
Audit final al build-ului
Audit passed (0 critical, 0 warning) — mostly optional and future considerations remain.
2 Opțional2 Viitor
Opțional
Add a UPS
An always-on server holding data should survive power blips.Acțiune: Add a line-interactive UPS sized for the build's peak draw (≥ 10 min at typical load for a clean shutdown).power
Opțional
Keep a backup off-box
Redundancy inside the box does not survive fire, theft or a whole-array fault.Acțiune: Mirror the important data to an external drive, a second box, or cloud.storage
Viitor
RAM expansion available
2 RAM slot(s) free for a later upgrade.Acțiune: Leave them free until the workload actually grows.memory
Viitor
PCIe slot available
2 free PCIe slot(s) for a NIC, HBA or GPU later.Acțiune: Use it for a 10G NIC, extra HBA, or an accelerator when the need appears.expansion
Ce devine limită
RAM is tight is the most likely thing to date this build within 1-2y.
1-2y
RAM is tight
De ce: Memory is 100% utilized — a growing workload will hit the ceiling quickly.Ce să faci: Add the remaining RAM before prices change, while slots are free.
1-2y
Storage nearly full
De ce: 77% of raw capacity is already in use — media libraries and backups grow fast.Ce să faci: No free bays/ports — the next capacity jump requires a DAS or a rebuild.
1-2y
CPU is the next bottleneck
De ce: The CPU runs at 90% of capacity — new services or more users will hit the wall first.Ce să faci: Consider a stronger CPU within the same socket generation while it is still cheap.
Ce te limitează primul
RAM is the closest to its limit (100% of capacity in use) — it will likely force the next upgrade.
