Data safety runs both at once with one TB input and a combined cost. Use the standalone storage planner for array-only trade-offs, the backup planner for backup-only depth.
What is the combined first-year cost?
Recommended array + recommended backup setup + one year of cloud offsite (when the backup strategy needs it). Year two onwards you only pay the cloud leg.
Is storage really not backup?
Right — redundancy survives drive failure, not deletion, ransomware, theft or fire. That is why every plan pairs the array with a separate, ideally offsite, copy.
