Perché questa variante
Sceglila se
Balances your priorities with a 2294€ price tag and a 39W idle draw.
Cosa sacrifica
- Not specialized: it does not push any single dimension (value, silence, expansion) to the extreme.
Come sono stati scelti i componenti
- AMD Ryzen 5 5600GT: 6 cores / 12 threads covers the 6 cores needed with headroom.
- Motherboard AMD B550 (AM4): matches the CPU socket and case size.
- RAM: 32GB DDR4 — meets the 24GB the workload requires.
Perché non le altre
- Smart build — best all-round beats "Performance build — maximum capability" on performance -29, value +9, efficiency +14, expandability +10, silence -13 — that is why it is recommended for your priorities.

Punteggio di solidità futura
Solidità futura solida79/100
Strong future-proofing (79/100) — this build should stay relevant for years without major surgery.
Upgrade path75
DIY build — the CPU, motherboard and PSU can each be upgraded independently without replacing the whole system.
Expansion100
Expansion headroom: 2 PCIe slot(s), 2 M.2, 58 SATA, 4 drive bay(s), 2 RAM slot(s) free.
Storage growth90
Storage is 71% utilized with 4 free drive bay(s) and 58 free SATA port(s).
Memory growth75
2 RAM slot(s) free; memory is 75% utilized.
Networking55
Networking is 1000 Mbps, and a free PCIe slot can add a faster NIC later.
Replacement ease90
ATX form factor with standard, socketed components — most parts are easy to replace.
Workload change70
No GPU (the iGPU handles transcoding), but there is room (2 PCIe slot(s), PSU headroom 5.4x) to add one for AI.
Homelab Risk Score
Rischio basso13/100
Low risk (13/100) — sensible redundancy and headroom; no single point of failure is exposed.
low
Single point of failure
Storage has redundancy (parity2) — a single drive failure does not take the array down.Soluzione: Continue a 3-2-1 backup strategy; redundancy is not a backup.
low
Storage risk
6 NAS-rated hard drive(s) — rated for 24/7 operation.Soluzione: Keep drives cool and monitor SMART health.
low
Data loss risk
Redundancy protects against drive failure, though it is not a substitute for backups.Soluzione: Follow a 3-2-1 backup rule: at least one copy off the box.
low
Power risk
PSU is 650W, peak load 120W (18%).Soluzione: PSU sizing leaves healthy headroom for spikes and future parts.
medium
Network risk
Single 1000 Mbps NIC — a switch/port failure takes the box fully offline, and multi-user media can saturate 1000 Mbps.Soluzione: Consider a second NIC or a managed switch; for heavy media, plan for 2.5/10G before the build.
low
Expansion risk
2 PCIe, 2 M.2, 58 SATA, 4 bays free.Soluzione: Healthy room for future drives, NICs and accelerators.
low
Upgrade risk
2024 platform — current generation with a forward-looking socket/feature set.Soluzione: Buy for the workload, not the socket — upgrade paths are a bonus, not a guarantee.
Audit finale del build
Audit passed (0 critical, 0 warning) — mostly optional and future considerations remain.

Ottimizzazione
Plan faster networking
1G networking is fine today but will bottleneck multi-user media or big NAS transfers at 80TB.Azione: Budget for a 2.5G/10G NIC and switch later, or spec it now.network
Opzionale
Add a UPS
An always-on server holding data should survive power blips.Azione: Add a line-interactive UPS sized for the build's peak draw (≥ 10 min at typical load for a clean shutdown).power
Opzionale
Keep a backup off-box
Redundancy inside the box does not survive fire, theft or a whole-array fault.Azione: Mirror the important data to an external drive, a second box, or cloud.storage
Futuro
RAM expansion available
2 RAM slot(s) free for a later upgrade.Azione: Leave them free until the workload actually grows.memory
Futuro
Drive bays remain
4 drive bay(s) free for future capacity.Azione: Expand capacity in pairs (mirror/parity) when needed.storage
Futuro
PCIe slot available
2 free PCIe slot(s) for a NIC, HBA or GPU later.Azione: Use it for a 10G NIC, extra HBA, or an accelerator when the need appears.expansion
Cosa diventa il limite
CPU is the next bottleneck is the most likely thing to date this build within 1-2y.
1-2y
CPU is the next bottleneck
Perché: The CPU runs at 100% of capacity — new services or more users will hit the wall first.Cosa fare: Consider a stronger CPU within the same socket generation while it is still cheap.
3-5y
Storage growing
Perché: 71% of capacity in use — comfortable today, tighter over a few years.Cosa fare: Plan the growth curve; keep at least one bay free for the next drive.
3-5y
1G networking becomes the ceiling
Perché: A 1000 Mbps link will cap NAS transfers and multi-user media before the CPU or disks do.Cosa fare: Add a 2.5G/10G NIC when the switch investment makes sense.
Cosa ti limiterà per primo
CPU is the closest to its limit (100% of capacity in use) — it will likely force the next upgrade.

- Add Microconnect MC-PCIEX4-X520-DA1 network card Internal Fiber 10000 Mbit/s
